Was Mariska Hargitay Snubbed During 2014 Emmy Awards?

On July 20, Leight tweeted a screen grab of Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her new son, baby Noah on his personal account. The photo shows Benson and Noah (in a chair) surrounded by toys as she sits on the ground.

Benson was given the opportunity to adopt Noah in the season 15 finale. "It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life, hands down, acting-wise," Hargitay said to EmmyWrap about this past SVU season and her storylines.

Despite the happiness Benson feels about finally being a mother, it may be short lived for the SVU detective. According to TV Guide, Benson's trip into motherhood is off to a rough start.

Reportedly Benson's bonding time with her new son gets interrupted because of the investigation into what really killed Benson's baby's biological mother. This case might be putting Benson and her baby, Noah, into harm's way.

Leight previously tweeted on July 13 that the premiere, which is supposed to air on September 24, 2014, will only be one hour, but will be "packed" for the die-hard viewers.

He also mentioned that star Hargitay hasn't signed on to direct an episode yet of Law and Order SVU like she has in the past, but the crew hopes that she will again.
