For a show that has aired over 550 episodes and is headed into its 26th season, The Simpsons is really making a big splash in the news these days.

Details About The Simpsons Character Death Revealed

They announced a series of live shows, set dates for the season premiere where a character will die and for not one but two crossover episodes with other cartoons. Now, as HitFix reported on Monday, news about the show's upcoming relationship with FX has been unveiled. For Simpsons fans, it might just be the greatest thing to ever happen.

It's not the fact that 552 episodes will start airing on FXX soon, with a marathon of every episode going on from August 21 through September 1, 24 hours a day, although that is quite exciting. It's not the themed marathons the network promised as well. It's all about Simpsons World app. Basically, if a fan has FX online or on a phone, then there will be access to all things Simpsons.

The Simpsons Planning Major Live Show In Los Angeles

Simpsons World will have every single episode available to watch on demand, with an easy search function. You will also be able to search for classic clips and share them with people through social media, something that has been fairly difficult to this point, as FOX has been fastidious about keeping Simpsons clips off YouTube and similar video websites. There will also be the opportunity to create playlists, and there will be episode guides and even the opportunity to read scripts alongside the video for episodes.

The app will be released in October, and be fully operational by January. Until then, Simpsons fans will have to wait, even if it's hard to do so.
