Daryl Dixon might be hanging by a thread in the next season of The Walking Dead ever since the actor who plays him revealed that he didn't have high hopes for his character before.

Will Cannibals Be At Terminus?

On Monday, Entertainment Weekly posted a brief interview with Norman Reedus, who seemed to not have that much confidence that his character would survive the last season. It all started when series creator Robert Kirkman gave him a phone call.

"When we were just about to wrap up last season, Kirkman called me," Reedus said. "And he said, 'Hey, I really want to talk to you. Can you call me back?' I was like, 'Okay, I'm getting the call. I'm gonna die on the show.'"

People Will Be 'Startled' In Season 5 Premiere?

It turns out that Reedus didn't have anything to worry about. In fact, the call was actually for good news involving a part in a film called AIR.

"He said, 'Hey, I'm doing this movie, I want you to be a part of it," the actor said about Kirkman.

The film is about workers who maintainan underground bunker facility filled with people in sleeping tanks due to toxic air.

While Reedus seemed skeptical of where his character would end up last season, he also recently mentioned to Gold Derby that pretty much anything could happen in the new year.

"Everyone's infected and you know, everyone's clock is ticking so I think it's definitely one of the themes of our show," he said.

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere this fall on AMC.
