'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 2 Spoilers: 'Xena' Star Lucy Lawless Cast, Can New Character Be Trusted? [VIDEO]
Agents Of SHIELD will soon get a little visit from former Xena star Lucy Lawless.
TV Guide broke the news of Lawless' casting on Monday as the ABC series kicked off production for season 3 with a little target practice (see photo here).
In accordance with Marvel's penchant for secrecy, the studio has yet to release any information regarding Lawless' actually role. Considering the timing of the announcement, however, it is fairly safe to assume that the actress will appear in one of season 2's earlier episodes.
Unfortunately, it is unknown whether or not the new character will exist to aid or hinder Coulson (Clark Gregg) and team. Considering the new director will be wary of anyone and everyone in the new HYDRA world, Lawless' new persona would have to try extra hard to gain his trust.
"We think we can keep that 'Trust no one alive' [feel]," teased co-creator Jed Whedon, according to IGN.
"That's one of the things we're going to be exploring in [season 2]," added executive producer Jeffrey Bell. "Who's out there? Who went to Hydra? Who didn't? Who can we trust?"
