The Avengers: Age of Ultron will receive a visit from Captain America's WWII flame.

Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) can be seen in a more spry form in ABC's Agent Carter this winter, but Steve Roger's (Chris Evans) love interest will pop up in a more elderly form during the next Avengers outing.

Atwell, who appeared as an aged Carter during Captain America: The Winter Soldier (see video below), wasn't originally in the Age of Ultron script, but a drink with writer/director Joss Whedon quickly changed all that.

"We went out drinking one night and [Whedon] was like, 'You know, it would be great to write something for you," Atwell told Entertainment Weekly (via Screen Rant). "And I was like, 'Yes, Joss, it would! It would be amazing!'" she told Entertainment Weekly (via ScreenRant).

While it seems unlikely that Carter will appear as her younger self in some form of a flashback, there is always an outside chance that Atwell won't have to transform into a senior citizen. Either way, Captain America will be in for a blast from the past as Earth's Mightiest Heroes try to clean up Ultron's (James Spader) mess.
