Country singer Tim McGraw issued a public statement on his fan "swatting" incident this week, putting a halt to rumors that claimed he'd acted violently toward a woman attending his concert in Atlanta, Georgia.

"Sometimes ting can lose context and perspective," claimed McGraw, "I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation."

McGraw made headlines last week after "swatting" off a fan who had grabbed hold of his leg during a concert in Atlanta and refused to let go. McGraw claimed he was merely trying to release his foot from her hold as he walked across the stage.

"You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable. And sometimes, you react," he said, "There's nothing to be said about it."

While the confrontation wasn't the only thing to happen to McGraw this week, it is certainly the thing most people have latched onto, overshadowing the country singer's moving duet with a girl from the audience during his time in Atlanta.

When the child sat on the edge of the stage McGraw joined her, singing to the giddy girl before taking his guitar off, signing it, and handing it over to the fan as a rather impressive souvenir.

A few days before, McGraw made a visit to the Children's Hospital in Cincinnati (featured below). The musician took some time to meet with young fans and appeared on the hospital's radio station to answer questions.

McGraw continues touring this month to promote his new album Sundown Heaven Town.
