Los Angeles' special operations team will jump back into action on Aug. 4, but prep for the John Peter Kousakis directed episode will kick off on Thursday.

"Director Prep 4 Ep.601begins tomorrow! Great story," Kousakis tweeted on Wednesday. "S6 is officially underway. Monday nite at 10pm is going to ROCK!"

Although the executive producer is helming episode 601, the first episode to film this season will air as the premiere. Instead, the premiere and one Chris O'Donnell (Callen) directed installment was filmed last spring following the season 5 finale.

With "Deep Trouble: Part 2" already under their belts, the cast is excited for the rest of the season to play out.

"Days away from starting S6. New night, new time," tweeted Miguel Ferrer (Granger). "Be ready for the best season yet. Everybody's been warming up for this one."

When Callen and Co. do return in "Deep Trouble: Part 2," G and Sam (LL Cool J) will be fighting for their lives on a bomb-laden submarine. The only way their situation could get worse is if the terrorists' vessel starts to take on water - which it does.
