Hannibal's favorite face-shedding psychopath is battling scheduling issues to find his way back into Dr. Lecter's story.

'Hannibal' NBC Doesn't Care That Series Has Few Viewers, 'Keeping It Going' Anyway With Season 3

Mason Verger (Michael Pitt) may rejoin the Hannibal cast for season 3, according to series creator Bryan Fuller, but Pitt is worried the timing might prove to be an issue.

"We're trying to work it out," Pitt told Huffington Post. "The truth is it's really just a scheduling thing. The truth is I have a lot on my plate right now, and I hope it works out. If it doesn't work out, it certainly is about scheduling."

If Verger does return to terrify Will Graham (or feed his dogs), viewers will get a glimpse of the pig farmer's facial prosthetics that were missing from season 2.

"It was one of those things where with the trials of doing a television show, we were worried about the time and being able to pull it off," Fuller said of leaving the prosthetic out of season 2, according to Shock Till You Drop. "Also, I thought it was cool to save that for season three."
