The small Maine town and its Trouble afflicted residents are slated for a 26-episode fifth season, and writers have worked in a few special guests for the fall episodes. While the roles are currently unknown, the casting should come as a surprise to viewers.

"For sure I think some of the guests we have in eps 7 and 8 this year qualify [as a surprise]," tweeted writer Brian Millikin on Wednesday. "Great actors. Can't say who yet I think."

In the meantime, Haven's Audrey Parker (Emily Rose), Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant), and Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour) will be joined by a new CDC employee named Dr. Erin Reid (Laura Mennell).

An epidemiologist, Reid may uncover a scientific explanation for the troubles that could lead to their end, according to TV Line. Unfortunately, the town's newest resident will be unaware of the local paranormal activity while she conducts her genetic study.
