Even before the festivities of San Diego Comic-Con got started, Marvel is already making waves with the unveiling of the first poster from their upcoming film, Ant-Man.

'The Hobbit' star Evangeline Lilly Vague About 'Ant-Man' Involvement

Entertainment Weekly released the poster, which is available for those visiting Comic-Con at the Marvel booth, designed by Andy Park as "Pre-Production Concept Art."

The article goes on to say, "As this poster makes clear: That's Paul Rudd taking on the central role of Scott Lang, a thief who, according to the comics, stole the technology behind the shrinking suit from the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym."

It also mentions Michael Douglas, playing Pym, who seems to be an initial adversary to Lang before the two team up during the course of the film.

"And there's Michael Douglas, joining the Marvel universe as Pym, a scientist with Tony Stark-levels of ingenuity. He not only builds a miniaturizing mechanism, but also constructs a method of communicating with tiny creatures. (Better to have them on your side than trying to eat you.)"

While not much is revealed by the poster, it is nice to finally have the faces of Rudd and Douglas linked with the hero. It is also neat to see how Marvel is planning on portraying this hero, specifically the image with him riding an ant, as it seems like they aren't going to shy away from his unorthodox superpower.

Directed by Peyton Reed from a script by Adam McKay, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari and based on the original story by Joe Cornish and Edgar Wright. Ant-Man stars Rudd, Douglas, Corey Stoll, Michael Pena, Evangeline Lilly, and Patrick Wilson. It hits theaters on July 17, 2015.
