This is probably not the kind of publicity the Duggars are looking for, but it seems as though Jessa Duggar's boyfriend has a lot to say when it comes to religion. The 19-year-old recently slammed Catholics for their "deadly errors" in a Facebook rant he's since deleted.

In the status update he posted last week, the young Christian missionary quoted a scripture and ranted about his "problem" with the Catholic faith.

"I have nothing against individuals who are Catholic. I know a lot of Catholics who are great people," Seewald wrote, according to a screenshot obtained by Radar Online. "What I DO have a problem with is the teaching that man can merit God's favor through his own works or the works of other fallen men."

He then quoted Ephesians 2:8-9, before adding, "I DO have a problem with the teaching that man can come to God through Mary or any other person besides Jesus.... I DO have a problem with the deification of Mary as a sinless being. Mary herself admitted her need for a Savior. If she had no sin, she would need no Savior."

Many of his Facebook followers were quick to criticize Seewald for his post, writing, "I hope you will retract your statement about Catholics" and "I think your intentions were good and I have no problem with you publicly disagreeing with Catholicism, but I do have a problem with you claiming that Catholics believe something that they do not."

Neither Seewald nor the Duggar family have commented on the issue since he deleted the post, although his Facebook page has since been slammed with posts about his message to Catholics.

Seewald has been courting Jessa Duggar since September of last year, although the two haven't made any plans to get engaged or get married.
