Orange is the New Black star Laura Prepon recently reviewed that there will be another twist in the Piper-Alex relationship in Season 3.

Red's Journey In Orange is the New Black Season 3 Will Be 'Utterly Unpredictable'

Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, only appeared in four episodes of Season 2 but she will be back as a series regular in Season 3. As such, she previewed to TVGuide.com that there will be a new shift in Alex's relationship with Piper (Taylor Schilling).

"In the beginning, Alex was definitely manipulating her more, making her a drug mule and using sex to manipulate her," Prepon explained. "But then they end up falling in love and the game changes for Alex. And then Piper does these things that are really manipulative and messed up. Then, in Season 2, there was definitely a shift and already in Season 3 there's another shift. So there's this constant thing that keeps changing. That's why they're so interesting."

While Alex isn't necessarily the most popular character, Prepon noted that the complexity of her character is what makes the show so good and relatable.

"I think one of thing that's so great about this show is that all the characters are flawed. Nobody's perfect. And there's something for everyone to relate to," she said.

She continued that Alex is a strong, independent woman who also has moments of vulnerability due to her genuine feelings for Piper. It remains to be seen what will go down with Piper and Alex but if the latter is in every episode of the new season, it's possible that they may be in prison together yet again.

Orange is the New Black Season 3 is expected to begin streaming in Summer 2015. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
