They had apparently been planning on going their separate ways, but their impending bundle of joy may have been just what Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes needed to get their relationship back on track.

According to a July 23 report on Hollywood Life, the couple had broken up and recently reconciled when Mendes revealed she was pregnant-blindsiding her beau of three years with the news.

The website reports that the pregnancy was unplanned, shocking both actors, but has since become an extremely welcome gift for their relationship, as the couple is reportedly looking for a bigger home to live in and is even picking out baby names.

However, the couple could still be in major disagreement about one key issue with their relationship-whether or not they should marry.

The issue is reportedly the one that has caused them to break up so many times, OK! reports.

In fact, after several different vacations all ended without Gosling reportedly giving Mendes a ring, she walked out on him in September 2013 after finally having enough with his unwillingness to propose.

"She walked out on him and gave him an ultimatum, but it didn't stick," a source told the magazine. "He had won her back by Christmas."

The couple reportedly got pregnant soon after that, as Mendes is currently seven months along and is due in the fall.

However, reports are conflicted over whether having a baby together will bring Gosling to finally propose to his baby's mother-and if he doesn't, it could still spell trouble for their future together.

"Eva and Ryan have one of those passionate, fiery relationships," a source said. "They've broken up more than once over his refusal to commit."
