As AMC's own website will let audiences know, they moved Hell on Wheels to Saturday nights for season 3 to pair this Western with their Western films they show on Saturdays as well, a sensible pairing.

Big Changes Promised For Hell On Wheels Season 4

So happy were they with the results, that they brought the show back for a fourth season on Saturday, this time for 13 episodes. The season begins August 2 at 9:00 p.m., and while the details of the season premiere aren't fully known, Carter Matt gave a bit of detail on Saturday on what to expect from the season opener.

The details are, indeed, sparse. The episode is entitled "The Elusive Eden," but the synopsis only lets us know that Thomas Durant will have to deal with the fallout of a railroad accident. Again, that's not a lot to go on, especially since this is a show about building the railroad. It also doesn't tell anything about what Anson Mount's Cullen Bohannon will be doing, and he's the main character of the show.

Hell On Wheels Cast To Start In Different Locations For Season 3

While there is not a lot of information specifically on "The Elusive Eden," there is some information about the general plans for season 4. On AMC's website, they give the following information:

"Conflict between government and big business, ranchers, homesteaders and the railroad will continue to define the drama as all of those interests compete with one another for control of Cheyenne, Wyoming," with Cheyenne being the most important railroad hub at the time. After the season begins, it will run for 10 episodes straight before taking some time off for AMC's traditional horror programming in October. First, though, there is "The Elusive Eden" and this mysterious, vague railroad accident.
