On July 28, it was revealed that Mike Colter, who guest starred as the notorious Lemond Bishop on The Good Wife, will be returning for season 6 of the CBS legal drama.

Variety reported the development via exclusive sources. Bishop is a sophisticated gangster, whose illegal drug business was guarded by Lockhart/Gardner and Alicia (Julianna Margulies) handled his cases often times. While Bishop's criminal background is an issue, he spells tremendous business and money for any law firm. There was speculation surrounding which way Bishop might go after the Alicia broke away from Lockhart/Gardner, and it seems likely that he might be bringing his business to Florrick/Agos, now that even Diane (Christine Baranski) is defecting from her old firm.

While Colter's return is great news, some guest stars who had become crucial to the show might not be returning. It was recently revealed that Clarke Hayden, played by Nathan Lane, will not be coming back for the sixth season.

Lane spoke about his involvement in the CBS drama while promoting his upcoming Live from Lincoln Center performance of The Nance on July 21.

"I'm not going to be able to do it this season," Lane said. "Maybe I could squeeze one [episode] in at some point, but I'm going to be in rehearsal and then in performances of a Terrence McNally play, so I don't know. ... I've had such a great time there. We'll see, if time permits."

The finale for season 2, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.
