"They've become a little more distant with each other," said actor Joseph Morgan (Klaus) of the characters, though the cast was rather cozy piled together on a sofa as they spoke with Andy Swift for TVLine (featured below).

"Different alliances are being made…" explained Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley) when the men found themselves at a loss for words, "Different relationships have formed." As for Hayley, the actress admitted that her characrter will certainly be going through a hard time. "Her focus has changed…she wants revenge…" noted the actress, "Her kind of intention for the series has changed."

The cast explained that the show will be picking up three months after the events of the first season's finale, though they struggled to articulate the few spoilers they were admitted to reveal. "This is tough," laughed Charles Michael Davis (Marcel), I didn't even get a real word out." He went on to say that Marcel wouldd be "rebuilding" and when asked what exactly he'd be rebuilding, Daniel Gillies (Elijah) chimed in jokingly with a "Lego tower."

Towards the close of the interview, Swift put it to the cast to see who they'd like to see cross over from The Vampire Diaries, on which the series is based, or vice versa. The shows have already come together for two episodes, and Swift asked who they'd like to see come over to their side.

Gillies wanted Aunt Jenna, though Morgan reminded him that Klaus had already killed her. Tonkin noted that it would be interesting to see Silas enter the show. After a bit of debate, the cast delivered Aunt Jenna as their formal answer.

The Originals returns to The CW for a second season Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
