Homeland Season 4 Premiere Date Revealed As Saul Tells Carrie 'Happy Hunting' In New Trailer

Homeland executive producer Alex Gansa spoke with press at the Television Critics Association press tour recently where he revealed that Dana would not return for Season 4 this fall.

"I can say unequivocally that Dana Brody will not be back for Season 4." Gansa confirmed, via TVLine. The daughter of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), Dana spent much of Season 3 rebelling and going off on adventures with her rehab friend Leo (Sam Underwood).

Another character who will be sadly missing from Season 4 is Carrie's (Claire Danes) father Frank (James Rebhorn). Rebhorn died in March at the age of 65 from melanoma.

Gansa said that he and his fellow producers intended on honoring Rebhorn for Season 4, though he did not reveal how.

He said that Rebhorn was "one of the kindest, most supportive and wonderful men to work with," explaining, "We want to honor him, but how we actually go about doing that, I'd rather not say."

The TVLine report also revealed that the series would continue to take interest in Quinn (Rupert Friend) leading into Season 4. "We're all very much invested in the Quinn character," executive producer Alexander Cary confirmed at TCA, though he would not elaborate.

Homeland Season 4 premieres Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
