Throughout the three season run of Longmire, there has been one question hanging over the show.

Branch Wields A Shotgun In Longmire Promotional Still

Namely, who killed Walt Longmire's wife? Well, as the third season wraps up, it seems we will be finally getting some answers. On Tuesday, Carter Matt reported that we are likely to at least get some answers in next week's season three finale.

The episode entitled "Ashes to Ashes," is going to put a capper on the action that has driven this wild third season at least to some degree. The synopsis indicates that Walt will be attempting to put both Henry's case and his wife's murder investigation to rest, and also that Branch is going to be suspended. Of course, Branch has become sort of a villain and fairly dangerous down the stretch of this season, so that may not be the end of it.

Katee Sackhoff Talks Future Of Longmire

Additionally, Katee Sackhoff's Vic will likely also be involved in some capacity, even if this episode seems like it will fittingly be more focused on its titular character. Will the show tie up all its loose ends to end the third season? There is no guarantee of a fourth season, and so it would make sense for the show to at least answer some of the mysteries, to give fans closure. It certainly seems like "Ashes to Ashes" is going to end this season of Longmire with a bang, and perhaps begin planting seeds for a potential fourth season. Longmire airs Monday nights at 10:00 p.m. on A&E, at least for one more week.
