Comic-Con was a big win for Marvel's Ant-Man, a movie that has been deep in production trouble ever since the departure of director Edgar Wright, as the first footage looked promising and the cast seemed to impress the crowd. But could that still not convince Marvel to delay the film?

'Ant-Man' Movie News: Cast Talks Script, Ants, & Edgar Wright

After much speculation, including during interviews at Comic-Con, The Hobbit star Evangeline Lilly took the stage at the Ant-Man panel and announced that she would be playing Hope Van Dyne, also known as "The Wasp."

Van Dyne is the daughter of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and should be a love interest to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd).

Also confirmed to the cast is Corey Stoll as Darren Cross, a.k.a. "Yellowjacket." Criss was a protege of Pym's but went off on his own route, which leads to the events of the movie where Pym and Lang go to steal back from him.

While they have finally confirmed two of the major roles, that doesn't hide that the film also lost another main actor in Patrick Wilson prior to the Marvel panel, and also is facing a delayed start time. With the movie set to be released on July 17, 2015, it begs the questions if the film, which has not shot anything at all, will be able to make the deadline.

Ant-Man has already shown with the footage that post-production will be key to aid with the special effects of the character. With a start for filming set for the next few weeks and an eventual post-production run, it looks like Marvel may look to delay the movie until November, a release date that worked well for them last year with Thor: The Dark World.

Right now, Ant-Man is a risky property and one that Marvel may look to just place in November and hope for the best with.
