Katy Perry performed a karaoke song on Catalina Island.

The pop singer used her given name "Katheryn" to announce her impromptu performance as she rapped to Will Smith's "Welcome to Miami."

The pop star was officially divorced from Russell Brand as of Monday. Perry might have been celebrating the finalization of the divorce from the actor.

The two were married for 14 months before Brand filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences" last December. The process took many months to complete and and both are now officially single.

Perry was rumored to be considered the next judge on season 12 of "American Idol", according to several reports. Perry recently addressed speculation of the possibility of taking former judge Jennifer Lopez's seat. She told The Hollywood Reporter: "People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it's not right for me yet. It's a real commitment to be on one of those shows." She added: "I have ideas for two or three big, creative things, and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas."

Katy Perry recently made headlines when her famous "spinning peppermint" bra had been declared a hazard by her insurance company and banned from future stage shows.

The pop star admitted that her wigs have been getting stuck in the rotating candy-inspired bra attached to her dress while she previously performed on stage.

27-year-old Perry told The Sun that her insurance company has banned her from wearing the item during her performances due to concerns about the high levels of strain on her neck. Insurers fear that the bra will cause the pop star to pull a muscle which will lead her to cancel future performances. A missed performance can cost millions to tour operators and their insurers .
