Some of the cast of CBS' Under the Dome spoke with TVLine at Comic-Con in late July where they previewed the "cliffhanger" season finale and the potential origins of the Dome.

Body Count on Under the Dome Will Be 'Revved Up' in Season 2

Under the Dome stars Mike Vogel (who plays Barbie), Alexander Koch (Junior), Colin Ford (Joe), Rachelle Lefevre (Julia) and guest star Eddie Cahill (Sam) sat down with TVLine in a video posted Monday. In it, they gave a sense of where the overall mythology of the show was going.

"The Dome is not as impenetrable as we thought," Cahill teased, mysteriously. Vogel added that the series eventually gives "some hope of escape" for the residents of Chester's Mill but that soon "deteriorates."

Cahill said that this season viewers will discover that the roots of the Dome may have been "planted" in the 1980s, adding to the overarching mythology of the series.

Switching to talk of the Season 2 finale, which will air in September, TVLine editor-in-chief Michael Ausiello asked the cast if there would be a "cliffhanger finale." This caused Lefevre to quip that the answer may be in the question, suggesting that someone may actually end up hanging in the final moments of the season.

Lefevre added that it will not be "a satisfying ending" presuming the show was canceled before it received a third season order. She said the show will be setting up the idea of a new world, broadening its scope.

Under the Dome Season 2 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
