Halt and Catch Fire just ended its first season on AMC, however, it is not known whether or not they will get a second season.

Despite the success of shows like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead, by and large the other shows on AMC have not found the critical or commercial success. Still, there is potential for more from the folks behind Halt and Catch Fire. On Sunday, TV Guide spoke with Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers, the creators of the show, about the end of their first season, and the potential for a second season.

When the first season ended, Donna had joined Cameron in the latter's startup company, Gordon was unsure of the future of Cardiff, despite the success of their computer the Giant, and Joe had disappeared once more, and headed off into the wilderness. The interview with TV Guide had some thoughts about the first season from the creators, but also turned an eye toward the second season.

Rogers said that they have some "definitive" ideas about a Season 2, and that they have shared those ideas with AMC. While they wanted this first season to tell a full story, Rogers indicated that there was a lot more to come for these characters, should they get the chance.

That includes Toby Huss' Bosworth, who was not part of the final two episodes, but would evidently be involved in a second season. Cantwell and Rogers are very happy with AMC, and they indicate AMC is happy with them, but that AMC also keep their cards close to their chest. Halt and Catch Fire was a show about the computer industry trying to predict the future, but, alas, the show might not have any more future of its own.
