Aduba spoke with HitFix this week about Suzanne and what it was like to be a part of a show growing in popularity every day. Asked what she wants to see happen to Suzanne going forward, Aduba said that she wants her to be able to "know her worth" and be appreciated for who she is.

"I'm most interested, I've said this before one time, that I really want, what I want more then anything for her it's for her to know her worth, that she doesn't need to seek it outside of herself," Aduba said. "Like that's something that I want. I want something to impact her enough that she feels whole that it's like, 'I don't need to chase, I am.'"

Suzanne developed a complicated relationship with Piper (Taylor Schilling) in the first season of Orange is the New Black. In Season 2, she fell under the spell of Vee (Lorraine Toussaint), even going so far as to take the fall for her in the Season 2 finale.

As Orange is the New Black continues to grow in popularity, Aduba expressed her gratitude in being a part of something dedicated to telling stories not often seen on film or television.

"You just remember that feeling when we first started where it was nobody knew what we were making, and we certainly weren't making it with any level of expectation, we were just all very excited to be working and a part of something that we loved and believed in, and something that we felt like was giving voice to a subject frankly we don't see much of and people that we don't see much of, in terms of diversity and women stories and told this authentically and sexual orientation and gender stories," Aduba explained. "It just felt good to know that something that I love so much and that we all love making has been received in this way."

Orange is the New Black is loved by fans, critics and the industry itself as it was just rewarded with 12 Emmy nominations, including one for Aduba in Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She is also nominated against Laverne Cox (who plays Sophia) and Natasha Lyonne (Nicky).

Orange is the New Black Season 3 is expected to being streaming in Summer 2015 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on the site.
