Britney Spears is happy to have a friend in her Crossroads co-star Zoe Saldana.

Find Out Who Britney Spears Said Inspires Her

"@zoesaldana Truly the sweetest, thx 4 the kind words," the singer tweeted on Monday. "Nothing but great memories of working w u. Crossroads pt 2? ;)

The pop star was referring to the kind words Saldana said when she visited Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, July 31. A fan asked The Guardians of the Galaxy actress if she had heard Spears' song Alien without auto-tune and Saldana quickly defended her. (The version leaked in July.)

"Well, that's mean because I'm pretty sure that 80 percent of our musical artists would be mortified if they were caught singing without their own auto-tune," Saldana responded.

The 36-year-old went on to speak about her experience working with Spears on Crossroads, which was released in 2002.

"I have a huge amount of respect for Britney Spears," Saldana said. "And I've always said this, and I will always continue to say it: She was the one big, big celebrity that I met when I was starting to work in Hollywood who literally was humble, and whatever was going on in her mind or in her world, it was never about hating her neighbor."

Saldana also noted that many of today's famous stars reached their success by "hating on Britney." "And Britney never did that," she added.
