Country star Carrie Underwood has never been shy about her commitment to dogs, plenty of pics show her snuggling up to her own dogs Ace and Penny, but it turns out the singer is in fact an advocate for all animals.

As busy as Underwood is with touring and her new album, the star put all other things aside when she saw a creature in need. "Chased this birdie around the street yesterday to help-she had a broken wing," tweeted the singer on Tuesday. "Thanks @WaldensPuddle for taking her!"

Below the comment Underwood included a photograph taken through a small animal crate door, revealing a small bird sitting quite patiently, a bowl of water to the left and one filled with food on the right.

Shortly after posting the story Underwood continued, attributing some credit to her NHL husband Mike Fisher. "Thanks to my hubby for pulling over so I could grab her [the bird]," continued the singer, "Sorry to those who had to deal w/ a crazy lady chasing a bird in the turn lane!"

Underwood's kind-hearted gestured received an overwhelmingly positive response from fans, most of whom thought her decision to help the injured bird was rather adorable.

The photo of the bird was reposted by fans over 300 times and received over 1,500 favorites within the first 12 hours.

Underwood continues her tour this month with stops in Illinois, Colorado, and New York City.
