Sony's held a panel at Comic Con 2012 with the film's main cast and presented a sneak preview of their upcoming movie, "Total Recall."

Farrell was on the stage, along with film director Len Wiseman and co-stars Bryan Cranston, Jessica Biel, and Kate Beckinsale, who is also Wiseman's wife.

When Farrell was asked the biggest difference between the original "Total Recall", a 1990 classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and the remake he stars in, he answered: "The biggest difference with this incarnation is the tonal shift. The other one had an absurd sense of humor. This is played a lot straighter," according to Hollywood Reporter.

Here is the video preview that screened at Comic Con 2012:

Film review magazine Total Film obtained an exclusive interview with "Total Recall" star Colin Farrell.

"I'm playing a man who's told his life isn't what he thought it was, the people in his life aren't who he thought they were and he isn't who he thought he was," Farrell replied when asked what the movie was about.

"The whole film then is a journey from this man awakening to the ideas of identity and past and being robbed of everything you were and everything you believed, without even knowing what these things are. So, there were plenty of existential questions for me to think about during the making of the film."

When asked if he was involved in the decision to not put out the film in 3-D, Colin replied, "If I heard this film was going to be 3-D I don't know whether I would have done it. I've seen some things that were great in 3-D but personally, I just don't need it - if the story's good enough. Maybe my kids will need it, but I just don't need the picture to come out. Some people say it's a better representation of how you see things in the world but I don't really buy it. It worked for me personally in the Werner Herzog documentary; I really liked it in that."

When asked if it was difficult fighting with co-star Kate Beckinsale, the director's wife, he revealed a spoiler:

"Easier than kissing her! [Laughs] That was tougher. It was OK though; the two women have the biggest fight in the film."

"The Total Recall" remake stars Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, Ethan Hawke and Bill Nighy.

The film will open in cinemas nationwide on August 3.
