The showrunner of Netflix's popular prison comedy-drama Orange is the New Black recently previewed what was ahead for Season 3 of the series.

Jenji Kohan, who is the creator and showrunner of Orange is the New Black, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about her career in Hollywood and only teased one small thing about Season 3, which is currently in production.

Season 3 of the series is "about faith," according to Kohan. Faith in the traditional sense has been explored throughout the series, from Pennsatucky's radical "faith healing" featured in Season 1 as well as Sister Jane Ingalls, who received her own flashback episode in Season 2.

Kohan could also be talking about secular faith, as in the faith the prisoners have in each other. Suzanne (Uzo Aduba) had a lot of faith in Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) in the second season, but that ultimately proved to be to her detriment.

Natasha Lyonne, who plays Nicky on the series, previously revealed that Season 3 would have a lot of "bloodshed." Those two nuggets of information seem to suggest that there may be betrayals ahead in Season 3.

Kohan continued with her thoughts on the series in The Hollywood Reporter story, saying that she was surprised by how much the series has caught on with Netflix viewers.

"I don't know if it's the subject, the characters, the way it's consumed or a combination of all those factors, but people's investment with these women is greater than anything I've seen before," she admitted.

The show has even caught on in the industry, having received 12 Emmy nominations for its debut season, with Kohan nominated for both producing and writing. It remains to be seen how well it will do when the Emmys take place Monday, Aug. 25.

Orange is the New Black Season 3 is expected to being streaming in Summer 2015 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available for streaming on the site.
