Chasing Life is about to air its summer finale with a new scene that's been released that shows heartbreak, fear and something rather touching.

Leo To Experience 'New Opportunities?'

In a sneak peek of the finale that was released on Wednesday, April is in the hospital when her mother crawls into bed with her to read her daughter a bedtime story. They bundle up together when her mom pulls out the classic "Frog and Toad" children's story.

This scene cuts short when April is seen wandering through the hospital, giving the impresson that she's having a dream. She wheels all her medical items with her as she opens up a random door and stops in surprise. Her father is lying down in a bed , completely bandaged up and unconscious. April sees the rest of her family with him, all of them looking scared.

Brenna's Love Triangle Chatter

April then wakes up in her own bed and sees her mother asleep on the bed next to hers.

The scene moves to the next morning when the main character wakes up yet again and happens to see someone else there. April doesn't seem to believe her own eyes when she sees Dominic staring at her as she wakes up.

He comes over to her, gives her a heartfelt hug and says, "I knew I shouldn't have left."

This moment could lead to a dramatic conversation on what'll happen between the two now that he looks like he won't be leaving anytime soon.

Chasing Life airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
