The Master and the Twelfth Doctor will not renew their feud during season 8 of Doctor Who.

John Simm's twisted Time Lord was last seen in 2010's "The End of Time: Part 2," and despite recent rumors, the power hungry character will not return any time soon.

"No [laughter]. I accidentally just said the truth. No, not really," said showrunner Steven Moffat when asked if he had any plans for the Master, according to Den Of Geek. "I think the story's sort of done. I thought what [former showrunner] Russell [T. Davis] did with that was so brilliant, because I did think it was over."

Instead, Twelve (Peter Capaldi) will soon have new baddies to battle (and of course a few old classics), but none of these villains will usurp the prominence that the Master had.

"The Doctor doesn't really need an arch-enemy, so we'll go for new ones," Moffat told Den of Geek.
