One Direction may have not been able to be at last night's Teen Choice Awards, but the British boy band still won big.

1D is currently on the east coast for their Where We Are tour and was unable to be at the California ceremony. The boys, however, sent in a video message to their fans and thanked them for their awards.

One Direction (who made sure to mention that they had performed previously at the event) went home with nine awards last night. Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne won for Choice Music Group, Choice Single Group for Story of My Life, Choice Love Song for You & I, Choice Break-Up Song for Story of My Life, Choice Summer Tour for the Where We Are tour, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Social Media King, Choice Twit and Choice Fanatic Fans for their Directioners. Styles also won for Choice Smile.

Horan took to his Twitter today to thank the fans and wrote, "Gutted we weren't at the TCA's tonight! I heard it was great! thank you all soo much for all the awards! It means soo much to us ! Love you"

1D was in Massachusetts for their tour where they also thanked the audience for an amazing time. Styles wrote this weekend, "Boston, you were amazing. Thank you so much for having us. Hope to see you again soon. How do you like them apples?" Their next stop is Monday night in Washington, DC.
