They're reportedly set to be parents within the next month or two, but expecting a baby may not have been the completely joyous news Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were hoping for.

Ryan Gosling Feels 'Trapped' By Eva Mendes Pregnancy?

According to a new report in Star Magazine (via Celebrity Dirty Laundry), the Place Beyond the Pines co-stars, who have been on/off for three years,  are actually in therapy, in a last-ditch attempt to save their relationship as they prepare for their new baby.

Mendes reportedly became pregnant shortly after the couple reunited following a split last fall-and though he's allegedly excited to become a father now, Gosling was freaked at first, and friends of the actor have insinuated that Mendes got pregnant on purpose, in an effort to 'trap' the actor into staying with her, despite their conflicting views on their future.

Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes Having A Boy?

The report claims that the 33-year-old Only God Forgives actor wanted a more traditional relationship with his 40-year-old girlfriend, but she refused to marry him, leading to their often splitting up. However, now with the baby on the way, the two are reportedly trying to work through their differing issues in therapy, with the intention of having Mendes finally agree to marriage in order to provide a more stable family for their offspring.

If the therapy is intended to help the couple through their issues and is helping them to prepare for parenthood, it may be working, as movers were seen outside Mendes' Hollywood Hills home August 11 moving furniture out-causing speculation that she is getting a nursery set up and ready for her fall arrival.

In addition, sources told The Daily Mail that the couple is very excited to become parents together.

"They literally could not be more excited," the source said. "She's feeling great."
