Susan Schneider, the wife of Robin Williams, has spoken out on her husband's sudden death.

On Monday, Perez Hilton posted a statement from Schneider who revealed her shock and crippling heartbreak over the tragic death:

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloeved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin's family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin's death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions."

Rumor currently has it that Williams may have commit suicide. According to a statement posted on Entertainment Weekly, the Oscar winning actor has been dealing with depression.

"Robin Williams passed away this morning," the statement reads. "He has been battling depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

Williams was 63-years-old. He and his wife, Susan, married in October 2011.

A number of celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their thoughts on the tragedy.

"The first thing I ever wanted to be when I grew up was Robin Williams' inhabiting of Popeye. #RIPRobinWilliams," John Mayer wrote.

"I am stunned and just reeling from the news of Robin Williams' death. He brought so much joy and hearts to millions... Just, wow," Neil Patrick Harris wrote.
