With Mad Men approaching its seventh and final season on AMC in early 2015, fans have begun to speculate about any tricks creator Matthew Weiner might have up his sleeve.

The theory that Megan Draper (Jessica Pare) would die during the final season seemed to fade at Weiner's insistence that parallels with murdered actress Sharon Tate meant nothing. However, not everyone is buying it.

On Sunday Bustle reported that Weiner's claims could be intended to deceive the audience. Whether the death be literal or metaphorical, Season 7 does go through 1969, the year in which Tate was murdered.

Megan also represents the freedom of California to husband Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and a loss of that or the deterioration of their relationship could serve as a metaphorical "death" still meant to be paralleled by the Tate murder.

According to The Daily Beast, comparisons between Megan and Tate first arose in May 2013 when Megan was seen sporting a white t-shirt with a red star in the center during Season 6, the same shirt worn by Tate during her Esquire photo shoot in 1967.

Tate was stabbed to death in 1969 by the followers of Charles Manson. She'd been the wife of famed director Roman Polanski and has been making a career as an actress during the time of her death. Megan is also an actress on the AMC series, which served as further proof for audiences that the t-shirt was more than just coincidence.
