Derek Hough Reveals Why He Initially Said 'No' To Dancing With the Stars

It is not known if several pro dancers will convene for the event with the potential to not be picked, but it is sure to be a big event for the DWTS community.

Season 18 champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy recently revealed that he would be leaving Dancing With the Stars as a dancer, so at least one spot will be open for the new season.

Barring any big career changes, it can be assumed that stalwarts Derek Hough, Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff and Tony Dovolani will all be back.

Other dancers who have joined and competed in more recent seasons include Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, both of which will likely come back as well.

Beyond this, it seems like any of the most recent new dancers, such as Witney Carson or Henry Byalikov, could potentially be cut in favor of new dancers. It will all be revealed Wednesday morning on ABC's Good Morning America.

The celebrity cast announcement for Season 19 is not expected until late August or early September.

Dancing With the Stars Season 19 begins Monday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
