Ant-Man is currently filming in Atlanta, but director Peyton Reed decided to take a break and drop a minor bomb on Marvel fans by way of a character name drop.

Production Starts For Marvel's 'Ant-Man,' Includes Local Casting Call

Speaking with ScreenRant last week, Reed talked about the script for the movie and said that Scott Lang's daughter, Cassie, would be appearing in the movie.

"In the comics, Scott Lang has a daughter, and that's part of the movie too, in terms of the character dynamics that are going on. That really appealed to me."

'Ant-Man' Actor Corey Stoll Teases 'Yellowjacket' Costume

Cassie Lang in the comics is a member of the Young Avengers. She has the same powers as her father, the ability to shrink and grow in size, but lacks her father's helmet which allowed telepathic communication with insects. However, she manifested her powers much later than her first exposure to Pym Particles.

This does have an interesting tie into Ant-Man because there are rumors that Pym Particles will play a role in getting Corey Stoll's character, Darren Cross, his powers. While they maybe won't get Cassie powers initially, it could lay the groundwork for a Young Avengers movie later on down the road.

No word yet on who would play Cassie and if it would be a big name. More information on that will most likely surface closer to the movie release, but the idea of having a Young Avengers story on the big screen is enticing.

Ant-Man is directed by Reed and stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Stoll. It opens in theaters on July 17, 2015.
