Christmas isn't for another four months, but already country superstar Carrie Underwood is gearing up for Michael W. Smith's upcoming Christmas album.

Produced by Smith, David Hamilton and Robert Deaton, the 14-track album will celebrating the spirit of the holidays, though all of the numbers will be rooted in Christmas. "David's beautiful orchestra arrangements and Robert's vision combined for some real magic in the studio," claimed Smith.

For fans waiting for Underwood's own album, they'll just have to wait a little bit longer. Busy performing duets with her famous friends, like Somethin' Bad Miranda Lambert and High Life with Brad Paisley, plus touring the country on her own this summer, the singer has more than had her hands full. She's even added a few more shows at the Grand Ole Opry to her tour, though it may just be an excuse to head back to Nashville for some time at home.

Underwood has yet to reveal a title or release date for her latest work, though she has boasted on a number of occasions that it will be "different" from anything she's done before.

The Spirit of Christmas is set to be released September 30.
