It seems like most every name in Hollywood is swirling around the rumor mill for the Power Rangers reboot after fans have placed who they want to see playing the roles. Even former stars of the show have displayed in interest in returning, but now a fan turned actor seems to be throwing his name in the ring.

Some Big Names Attached To 'Power Rangers' Don't Seem Like Realistic Casting Choices

Matt Jayson, who is known for roles in the NBC show Chuck and more recently ABC Family's The Fosters, stars in a new Funny or Die spoof of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and what it would be like if the show had a more serious tone.

The short scene plays almost like something from Chuck, as Jayson is greeted at his door and asked to suit up again to save Kim, the Pink Ranger. After much deliberation, and fighting the past, Jayson agrees and the clip ends with the Mighty Morphin logo and the theme song playing as the title, "The Ranger," shows up.

What We Know So Far About The 'Power Rangers' Reboot

While it is comical, it also happened at a point where casting is still up in the air with the movie and Jayson could be showing an interest in grabbing a part. He plays the role well in the clip and has charisma, but does not have any big film credits to his name yet.

The script is still being worked on with roles undetermined, but it seems like Jayson may be throwing his hat into the ring early to try and grab a role in the reboot.

The movie has no release date yet and is being written by Zack Stenz, Ashley Miller, and Roberto Orci.
