Carrie Underwood loves football and this year she might just be landing the ultimate performance for any football fan.

Country Singer Carrie Underwood Joins 'The Spirit Of Christmas' Album

On Wednesday night the San Jose Mercury News announced that the country singer could be in the running to perform the highly anticipated 2015 Super Bowl halftime show.

It seems like the next natural step for Underwood, who will be performing Waiting All Day For Sunday Night this fall for NBC's Sunday Night Football. This will be her second year in a row as the face of the anthem, having taken it over from legend Faith Hill in 2013. She has also performed at the Super Bowl before, having sung the National Anthem there in 2010.

The report also indicated that the performer will be featured in a pre-taped video set to open for the Super Bowl this year.

Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley Mock Amy Bowen Lawsuit With New Song

Underwood has yet to comment on talk of her doing the halftime show, but the singer has been busy. She's been touring the country all summer and on Wednesday she posted a photo on Twitter showing her and fellow country musician Brad Paisley working on the CMA Awards. The pair will be hosting the award ceremony this year, which will make it their seventh time doing so.

"Me & @BradPaisley shooting promos for the @CountryMusic Awards! They're not 'till November but I already can't wait!" tweeted Underwood alongside the picture.

Super Bowl XLIX will take place on February 1, 2015.
