According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Ronaldo scored twice to give his team the 2-0 victory. After the victory, Ronaldo won The Man of the Match award and dedicated it to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Daily Mail reported yesterday that Ronaldo said "I am happy because I scored these two goals and I want to thank Sir Alex for handing me the man of the match trophy."

Why Real Madrid Is Worried About Cristiano Ronaldo's Health

Ronaldo said that Ferguson helped him a lot when he played for Manchester United. "I respect him and thank him so much for everything he did in my career," Ronaldo said about Ferguson. "This was a trophy I wanted because I haven't won it yet. I was nervous, but I managed to work well with the team and I am pleased."

On his Instagram, Ronaldo wrote "Great pic from a great night! #RealMadridSevilla #HalaMadrid #SuperCup Amazing kick off for the team." Ronaldo then posted a solo picture with the Super Cup trophy. "UEFA SuperCup Champions #RealMadridSevilla #HalaMadrid #SuperCup @realmadrid"

This win for Real Madrid comes after the team was reportedly worried about the soccer player's health after his summer injuries. Goal.com reported on Monday that the team was worried Ronaldo would try to out-do himself.

"Cristiano always wants to play and it's that competitive streak that makes him the player he is, but he knows he will need to rest more to avoid a constant recurrence of this problem," a source close to Madrid told Goal.com. "The club are delighted to see him training at full pace as he has in previous years, but there is still some concern over how he will respond over the whole season."
