The first promo for the upcoming seventh season of ABC's Castle has been released, and it seems that the series is going to pick up exactly where the Season 6 finale left off.

Once Upon a Time Alum Set To Be In 'Clear and Present Danger' When Castle Returns

ABC has released the first trailer for Castle Season 7, which centers on the big cliffhanger that ended Season 6. Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) were getting ready to be married when the former got into a fiery car wreck.

The new trailer (featured below) includes new footage from Season 7, with Beckett discovering to her horror that Castle is nowhere to be found.

"On the most important day of their lives, why would the love of her life vanish?" the voiceover posits. "The search is on for Castle."

Meanwhile, Beckett is desperately pleading, "He's not in the car!" as firefighters work to put out the massive fire surrounding Castle's car.

Castle's new showrunner David Amann spoke with Give Me My Remote recently where he previewed that Beckett would be on a mission to get to the bottom of this mystery.

"She's committed to getting to the bottom of what happened with Castle," Amann said. "That's really her focus and her mission. She's going to do that, and she's going to take that as far as she can go to get answers. That's what she's focused on."

The cliffhanger ending was a polarizing one for fans, but Castle looks to be trying to pull them back in with the new dramatic promo.

Castle Season 7 is set to premiere on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. on ABC.
