It looks like Daryl Dixon might be having a new romance when The Walking Dead returns and it could be with another man.

Season 5 Premiere Will Be 'The Biggest Episode?'

On Wednesday, ComicBook.com posted the details, giving fans a reminder that Daryl has become closer to Carol and Beth. But these relationships have not gone anywhere romantically. It also turns out that the character Jesus is gay in the comic books, which has given some speculation if Daryl will turn out to be gay as well.

Series creator Robert Kirkman has partially broken the curiosity over this by mentioning that while no plans are official, the idea of Daryl being gay could potentially happen at some point.

Season 5 Will Have Something 'Slightly Familiar'

"All I can say is that it's being discussed," Kirkman said. "We have very specific ideas about Daryl's sexuality (or the seeming lack thereof), and if there's ever a quiet period in the show where he's not consistently distracted by crossbowing... we'll tackle it in the show."

The creator was also asked if AMC would let the possibility of Daryl being gay fly.

"For the record, they absolutely would," Kirkman responded.

While the mystery of Daryl's love life is being taken into consideration, Lauren Cohan (Maggie) recently dished on the crazy action that will be taking place in the fifth season premiere.

"It's great, we're trapped in this car, but you see the group- I know you've seen this group be bada-- but you see this group this season gets so tough, you know what I mean," Cohan said, posted on The Walking Dead and More. "Like, those Terminian people, they don't know what they're messing with, they really don't."

The Walking Dead Season 5 is expected to premiere on Sunday, October 12 on AMC.
