As Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) is poised to make her move to Florrick/Agos, there might be a few new characters vying for her powerful position over at Lockhart/Garnder in season 6 of The Good Wife.

First Look At Taye Diggs On Set Of Season 6 Of The Good Wife

On August 15, TVLine reported that Connie Nielsen will be joining the cast of The Good Wife for its next chapter. While much wasn't given away about the character, Ramona, it was revealed that she "is a smart, beautiful attorney with far-reaching Cook County connections."

Ramona could be a probable replacement for Diane at the firm she set up with Will Gardner (Josh Charles). It was also recently revealed that Private Practice alum Taye Diggs will be joining the show. He will play Dean Levine-Wilkins, who has been described as a "meticulous" and "talented" equity partner at Lockhart/Gardner. Wilkins will actually move with Diane to Florrick/Agos. So maybe Ramona will fill the void and it would reinstate some dramatic competitiveness.

Eli Gould's New Look For Season 6 Of The Good Wife Revealed

The highlight of the finale for season 5 was Eli Gould (Alan Cumming) proposing Alicia become a candidate for State's Attorney, and Diane choosing to leave Lockhart/Gardner and asking to join Florrick/Agos. The cliffhanger obviously had to do with the big decision Alicia will have to take now.

The finale, titled A Weird Year, aired on May 18.

Season 6 of The Good Wife will premiere on CBS on September 21.
