Sage Stallone was laid to rest on Saturday, July 21 at a private funeral in Los Angeles. Mother, Sasha Czack and his father, actor, Sylvester Stallone mourned as words were shared regarding their son's death in which the cause still remains a mystery.

"This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage is our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace," the elder Stallone, 66, said in a statement released on Monday.

The younger Stallone was only 36 years-old when he was found dead on July 13. His death is still under investigation as authorities are unsure about the mysterious cause.

However, a close friend of Sage opened up to TMZ claiming suicide was definitely not something his friend would have done.

"It was absolutely not suicide," Stephen Wozniac said also adding that he and Sage had been making plans for the future.

"I'm certain that this really horrible thing that happened was an accident. It could have been anything - but nothing like suicide. I knew him pretty well... I spoke to him a few weeks ago. We talked about resurrecting a film we worked on, other projects, talked about his girlfriend and time they'd spent together. We talked about my wedding and he seemed to be thinking about it," he continued.

Wozniac also added that while the younger Stallone did get depressed, he was not one to abuse substances.

"He would have withdrawal and get depressed," he told E! News.

"He would try to overcompensate. He would try to clown around and I know that those are things people do, medicate or wake up. He was no different. Very few people were telling him, 'Don't do that.' I did. He was very resistant when you would tell him that. It was a sore point with him."

Sage's mother, Czack, however, says that her son may have abused painkillers after recent work done at the dentist.

According to Czack, her late son had severe and extensive dental work done two weeks prior to his passing, in order to remove 5 teeth. She claims that she urged him against such a drastic one day procedure.

"I told him not to do that. I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth. Do not have more than one tooth (pulled)," she said. When asked if her son would be taking pain medication for the pain, she replied: "Wouldn't you be?"

Many are speculating as to just how long Stallone may have been dead; 3 to 4 days, or possibly even a week is what has been debated.

Sage Stallone's lawyer George Braunstein defends his former client in regards to claims that he intentionally took his own life:

"Sage was a really young, very sensitive, and very talented kid. There has been no indication that there was anything wrong in his life. He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."

It is reported that officials will need two more months in determining Sage's cause of death.

Let's hope they can determine they can get the results in as soon as possible so that family and friends can receive the proper closure.
