Anne Hathaway, 29,  tackles the infamous role of Catwoman in the latest Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. While many others have attempted the role, critics and director, Christopher Nolan, agree that Hathaway's performance is a 'perfection rendition.'

A review on Hollywood states that Anne Hathaway's role as a complex cat burglar "may be the closest thing we've seen to a perfect rendition of the infamous and beguiling Selina Kyle."

The publication continued to report that even after The Dark Knight Rises was over, they still longed to see more of this supporting character.

Nolan says Hathaway "nailed" the character.

"[Catwoman] is the most alive presence in the movie in the beginning, and she also helps draw Bruce Wayne (Batman) out of his shell. She's a breath of fresh air...and Anne Hathaway just nails the character, delightfully," Nolan said in an interview with CNN.

The role of Catwoman is an iconic one and legendary in popular culture. Previous actresses tackling the role include Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry. Therefore, Hathaway admits she felt pressure when accepting the role.

"I would be lying if I said I didn't feel a ton of pressure. There were a lot of expectations and I tried to enjoy it as much possible. I was playing a great character and it was very well written," she said, according to All Voices.

However, the Princess Diaries actress revealed that it has always been her dream to be Catwoman, so the experience was unforgettable, according to Cover Media.

"I dreamed of being Catwoman!' So playing this part is the coolest and most amazing thing that could have happened to me. It's almost too good to be true," Hathaway said.

Nolan claims Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises brings in a new take to the role and is a "delight to watch."

"Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perform," the director said. "She's an incredible character and we're very excited to see her and hopefully we'll leave people wanting more."

Seth Meyers, co-host of Live With Kelly, also admitted to Hathaway on the show that her performance in The Dark Knight Rises was amazing.

"I saw it, and you're amazing. You're the best Catwoman I've ever seen. It's really great. It's really awesome." Meyers added, "It's the greatest looking cat-suit I've ever seen."

At this, Hathaway confessed that while the Catwoman accessories are leather, the actual suit is neoprene. Meyer's was still impressed by Hathaway's dynamic movements in the outfit.

"That looks like an outfit that you wouldn't be able to do a ton of moving in, but you do more movement in that than I do in like anything. You do things in the most constricting suit that I can't like do in pajamas," he said on the talk show.

"It was great. I love it. It's really exciting, and everybody should see it," Meyers concluded.

The final installment of the Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, can be seen in theatres today.
