HBO may have reduced Boardwalk Empire's final season to eight episodes, but production for the series continues even as the premiere draws closer.

Stars Requested To Be Killed Of 'In A Blaze of Glory' For 'Boardwalk Empire' Series Finale

On Tuesday the crew for the hit series was spotted setting up equipment at Alder Manor in Yonkers, NY. According to News 12 Westchester, camera were visible on North Broadway.

Filming has already begun for the series finale, indicating that the historic location will likely have something to do with one of those last scenes. The setting could even be related to the fate of leading man Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi). It is uncertain whether Nucky will see incredible success or crippling defeat by the program's end, though it will probably err on the side of extreme.

Frequently used for weddings and other elegant events, the mansion was originally built in 1912 and can accommodate over three hundred guests, though it is uncertain whether or not the HBO drama intends to pack the hall.

The series will be jumping seven years ahead into 1931 for Season 5, which will result in political, economic, and criminal change. With the end of prohibition nearing and the Great Depression underway, some characters will find themselves on hard times, while others will rise to legendary status within America's infamous crime network of the 1930s. 

Boardwalk Empire returns to HBO for its fifth and final season Sunday, September 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
