Production for The Originals second season on The CW is still underway, but that hasn't stopped the cast from having a little fun.

'The Originals' Stars Dish On 'Dark' New Season

Interviews show the drama's cast as being a close-knit group prone to pranks. It is, therefore, not surprising that they've taken to nominating each other for the Ice Bucket Challenge, "challenge" that has recently dominated social media with the aim of raising money and awareness for the condition.

"#ALSIceBucketChallenge with no water wasted…GAME on #The Originals," declared fan favorite actor Steven Krueger (Josh) on Twitter Monday. He then went on to challenge costar Danielle Campbell (Davina) and Charles Michael Davis (Marcel), as well as director Matt Hastings to take part in it.

Davis responded quickly to the challenge, though he decided to have a little fun with his video (featured below). He started out by nominating a few friends, including The Originals co-stars Daniel Gillies (Elijah) and Joseph Morgan (Klaus). He also decided to toss the challenge out to big name stars Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman, "cause, why not".

Davis then proceeded to take part in what he called the "ALS Ice Water Challenge", drinking a full glass of ice water on camera. After he was done the "cameraman" informed him that it was not "ice water", but instead "ice bucket". Feigning ignorance, the actor explained that he thought the challenge was meant to promote hydration.

"Luckily I have a bucket, and I'm gonna grab it, and meet you outside," he declared.

Davis then appeared outside on the balcony and proceeded to dump a bucket of ice water of his head. Upon recovering from the shock, he muttered that he might have left his cell phone in his pocket, then turned back to the camera and declared that his nominations remained the same.

The Originals returns to The CW for a second season Monday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
