Anne Hathaway admitted she would be very interested in reprising her role as Catwoman for a solo film.

The actress revealed she would embrace the project if "Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan was involved. Christopher Nolan has said that Anne Hathaway "deserves" the opportunity to star in a "Catwoman" solo film. Could the two be hinting at a suggestion to movie studio Warner Brothers to consider a reboot of a "Catwoman" film?

"I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people," Hathaway told Digital Spy. "She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."

Hathaway spoke highly of Nolan, who also directed Leonardo Di Caprio in "Inception": "He's lovely! He trusts us all to do our homework and come in with ideas. You have to come in by and large knowing what you're going to do but, if you get stuck, he'll give you the time to figure it out. He'll ask you the perfect question that all of a sudden makes your brain explode and you see the scene in 10,000 new ways."

Hathaway also admitted she didn't research previous stars' portrayal of Selina Kyle in other films for reference.

"I didn't want to focus on the other peoples' interpretation of it because I didn't see where that would get me; it would only be a rehashing of something already done - and done very well," Hathaway explained. "I thought it was probably best to focus on being a part of Chris Nolan's Gotham City."

"Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character," Nolan told Access Hollywood. "She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perform, the things she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly."

When asked whether Hathaway's Selina Kyle should be given her own film, Nolan added: "I certainly think she deserves it, she's incredible," he told Digital Spy.

Halle Berry starred as the DC Comics cat burglar in 2004's "Catwoman," and Michelle Pfeiffer took on the role for Tim Burton in 1992's "Batman Returns."

"The Dark Knight Rises," starring Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman with Christian Bale and Tom Hardy, arrived in cinemas on July 20.
