The first half of Haven's 26-episode fifth season will air this fall, and a new rumor claims that the Reid (Laura Mennell) will not bring her epidemiologist skills to Maine until episode 9. While this timeline has yet to be confirmed by official source, a series writer has hinted that fans will definitely have to wait to find out more about the good doctor.

"I do believe there's a moratorium [on information] for the time being," tweeted Brian Millikin ("The Trouble With Troubles," "The New Girl") on Tuesday. "Laura's character doesn't make an appearance till deeper into the season."

Considering Duke (Eric Balfour), Nathan (Lucas Bryant), and Dwight (Adam Copeland) will soon have their hands full with Mara/Audrey (Emily Rose), it's no surprise that writers don't want to overload viewers with new storylines right off the bat.

When Reid does finally appear, the scientist will be wholly unaware of the town's paranormal afflictions. Despite this, Reid will unearth a genetic marker shared by all Troubled people.
