Awkward is one of MTV's leading scripted series. The midseason finale aired back in June and now stars are gearing up to promote the remainder of the fourth season.

Cast Of 'Awkward' Hits The Beach For Summer Fun

Beau Mirchoff, known for play leading man Matty on the program, sat down with After Buzz's Jillian Leff on Tuesday (featured below) to talk a little about the show, from his early experiences on the series to the show's upcoming return.

"It's been wonderful…" admitted the star humbly. "I've made some wonderful lifelong friends, the show has been spectacular."

Eva's Shocking 'Awkward' Confessions

Leff noted that the series has been somewhat of a trailblazer for scripted programming on the network, "bleeping" out curse words and exploring mature content.

Mirchoff agreed, though such freedom did yield an unexpected side-effect. The actor finds now that whenever he appears on another show and does any improv he feels almost compelled to swear, rendering the take useless as many shows won't use any footage involving inappropriate language.

As for the mid-season finale, Mirchoff isn't standing in the way of fans who think Eva (Elizabeth Whitson) is absolutely out of her mind. "[It gets] a little Misery-ish Kathy Bates," he joked, referring to the classic horror film in which a disillusioned woman (Bates) famously keeps a famous writer prisoner in her home, eventually going so far as to break his legs.

While Mirchoff went on to admit Eva isn't exactly that disturbed, she isn't all that innocent. She did, after all, take a pregnancy test at the end of the finale, which proved to be positive. Since she and Matty supposedly used protection when they were together, it begs the question as to who the father is.

Leff suggested perhaps Eva is somehow lying about the whole thing. Mirchoff disagreed, though his theory was equally as diabolical. "I think maybe she poked a hole in the contraceptive," he said.

If Eva is pregnant with Matty's child, it might makes things difficult for Matty and Jenna (Ashley Rickards), who still has feelings for her ex beau (no pun intended).

"I hope so. I don't know," claimed Mirchoff in discussing whether Matty and Jenna will ever give it another go. "They're young. That stuff happens. They're not perfect, no one is at that age."

Awkward returns to MTV to finish the fourth season this fall.
