In June, Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, dished on the future of Harley Quinn, via a Facebook interaction with fans.

"It was absolutely Harley Quinn. Hope she is back -- AND OUT OF HER CELL -- Season 3," he wrote.

The actor also addressed this question at another recent event. He spoke about Quinn at a Comic Con event in Phoenix on June 7 and 8.

In the episode, titled Suicide Squad, viewers didn't quite get to see Quinn's face and all that was accessible was her voice. The character was voiced by Teenage Titans star Tara Strong. While people were still unsure if that was the great Quinn herself, as the character was described as the "deranged squad female" executive producer Marc Guggenheim confirmed that it was the Batman villain indeed. At the Comic Con event, Amell was asked if the infamous DC character will be returning for the third season.

"I don't know if she's going to be involved in season three, but the high-pitched voice in Episode 16 was absolutely Harley Quinn," said Amell. "I didn't know about any of this, by the way, because I wasn't in that scene. But I'm a fan and I remember seeing that preview and feeling like I should have known that this was going to happen!...I also know that there was an additional scene with that character in the finale -- again, still in the cell, still with her back to us -- but it had to be cut for time."

The finale of season 2 of Arrow aired on May 14 on the CW. Season 3 premieres on October 8 on The CW.
